Today we are your Estate jeweler. Buying, selling, and repairing high end jewelry and watches. But where did we start;
In 1972, Bengt A. Espling chose to leave his successful corporate job as a vice president of a national jewelry chain to open his own business, Espling Jewelers. Starting in Southgate Plaza as a watch repair shop providing warranty service of Timex watches as well as popular watch brands. Espling was able to expand throughout Jacksonville as a local jeweler still providing excellent service.
Although he was already a success, in his heart was family and he wanted less traveling. Choosing Jacksonville as a home was a family decision.
Early in Bengt’s life, he trained under the renowned master horologist Henry B. Fried. In the founding days of Espling, he spent time repairing watches and transferring that knowledge to his children. The store inventory included a few watches and watch bands to sell, later adding diamonds and jewelry collections. The business expanded. He would say, "keeping the customer satisfied means offering quality merchandise and providing excellent service."
Bengt and his wife of 67 years passed away in 2020.
Today, the Espling family continues with the same philosophy. His sons, Ben, and Daniel as well as Aja, a granddaughter, continue in the Espling tradition. There has always been a desire to learn the history of jewelry and watches. This dedication as well as our experience, mechanical expertise and trained staff has helped to make Espling Jewelers the place to get questions answered about all your jewelry needs.
Espling Jewelers is well known and respected as a local company, voted many times as Best in Jax for watch repair, jewelry repair and for precious and semiprecious stones. This has been accomplished by selling quality jewelry and watches as well as providing excellent service.
